Participation
The City's participation in the project is given personally by the Mayor and confirmed by a City Council resolution. Usually a first meeting with the representatives of the National Council of Research takes place with a Council seminar so as to present the project and its adaptation to the needs and characteristics of the city. It is important that it be clear right from the beginning that the project does not just regard the children, their problems and services, but the entire city and therefore all the administrative sectors and council offices. Participation in the project has no economic costs, but must represent a strong political commitment towards the respect of children's needs and changes in the city.
The National Council of Research handles the communication with and between the cities in the network by means of the publication of a periodic bulletin "The City of Children"; organizes periodical meetings and training seminars for administrators, operators and city technicians; it collects the materials produced by the city in an International Documentation Center.
Antonella Prisco is the head of the network.
