Launching the initiative

At the end of all the scholastic activities which include involvement and awareness on the part of the various social categories, when all the families consider the preparation satisfactory, a celebration is organized for the purpose of launching the activity. Generally a Spring day is chosen when the Mayor and the Council members who followed the activities are present, with a band, street entertainers, leaflets and decorations. The children present their requests to the Mayor to make the routes safer. The parents follow their children from a distance and verify their ability. Newspaper, radio and local television journalists will be present. From that day on all the children, or at least all those who are allowed to do so by their parents, will go to school on their own, with their schoolmates.
