We go to school alone
The Operations of the Administration
It is important to give the citizens the certainty that the City government will direct its efforts to this experience, believes in it and is willing to invest resources towards its success. The experience must be sustained by a series of favourable attitudes by the administrators: speak about it publicly, assume and require a coherent form of conduct; apply the norms of the Traffic Code that defend giving the right of way to pedestrians; carry out the structural changes that favour pedestrians and cyclists in alternative to those that have always favoured the motorists. The requests made by the children and their parents to intervene must be collected and carried out quickly especially if they require a limited economic commitment. In particular the horizontal traffic signals must be well-maintained and improved. The most dangerous areas must be tackled and long term operations must be put in place in order to favour pedestrian bicycle mobility starting from the neighbourhoods involved in the experience. Experimental vertical traffic signals can be realized to inform the motorists.
