Introduction

The project intends to promote two fundamental aspects in the life of children: their autonomy and their participation. In the last few years these two main approaches have given rise to various activities. Those that are illustrated here are those that are most commonly developed by the cities that adhere to the project and that best interpret its objectives. Of these activities, even though in a schematic way, those methodological aspects that can be useful for the cities that intend to initiate them are presented; in each situation they will have to be modified and adapted to local characteristics and needs. It will be possible to gather more information on the motivations, the method and experiences already realized by consulting the various issues of the "Bulletin "The City of Children" and the Manuals. We then recommend getting in touch with the city that carried out the activities in order to have materials and suggestions, thereby creating a real network based on exchange and cooperation.
